Today's economy has everybody looking for ways to save money by finding good deals. One of the better deals currently floating around involves paying less for golf course tee times. Discounted fee promotions show up on the Internet, in print media and via direct mail to your address. How you feel about playing golf at reduced rates is up to you. Just realize many of those discount offers come from golf layouts with great track records; some of which you might never be able to play if they weren't so anxious to find some extra revenues. Discount plans are developed by individual golf courses and by conglomerates that own and/or manage several golf clubs. You can also get a good deal from some of the world's greatest vacation spots, where hotels are anxious to fill more rooms and suites. Hotels and nearby golf courses often work in tandem to offer visitors the best of both worlds – great golf during the day, great food and entertainment in the evening. And it won't bankrupt anyone. There are also local golf organizations that, for a price, offer annual players cards that automatically reduce green fees at those courses that have signed onto the package. Before joining these golf card plans, make sure you're going to play enough golf to actually make enough on the saved tee time prices to justify paying for the initial membership fee. Golf fee discounters admit to having a strong bias in favor of E-based marketing plans. There are some technical challenges to be dealt with, but the system is proving to be more effective than traditional media. It appears that many golf courses haven't begun taking advantage of online marketing. That provides resourceful entrepreneurs the room to really work the Internet. Golf courses should eventually come around to realizing that it only takes a reliable vendor who can use golf software systems to help clubs realize their marketing goals.
